The ASA (America/South America) GTM (Go To Market) Business Area Controller position is responsible for the financial activities of the Americas GTM organization for their assigned business area (BA). As a key member of the Americas Business Controlling Team, he/she has responsibility for the implementation of Americas GTM strategy and steering the GTM team towards achieving profitable growth targets. Of particular focus for this role is the on-going definition, development and reporting of the Americas GTM.
This role will be responsible for all Americas region Go-to-Market business controlling functions for the assigned BA. This includes overall responsibility for financial activities – financial performance and steering, budget and forecast preparation, operating expense management and control and regular financial results reporting.
o Business Controlling – Planning & Control
o Manage all aspects of the assigned BA’s Americas GTM financial budgeting and forecasting process by working with regional sales, finance, & commercial management as well as with the group BA finance and commercial teams.
o Financial and business planning, steering & monitoring performance, optimizing operating capital.
o Prepare, analyze and report financial results – Sales trends, product gross margins, average net selling price analysis, BA operating expenses, and BA inventory and balance sheet items
o Analyze GTM results versus expectations (sales, margins, operating expenses and inventory management) and drive actions needed to meet financial targets & overall GTM objectives
o Provide financial impact analysis of Sales Program / Discounting Structures including:
Coop Agreement Analysis
Warranty/Defective Allowance Analysis
Sales Volume Rebate Agreements
o Financial Reporting and Analysis
o Hyperion and internal management reporting using Hyperion and Hyperion Retrieve
o Conduct Monthly Financial Reviews & Governance meetings with Commercial Leadership & GTM teams
o Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis of financial data to support decision making on channels, customers, programs, etc.
o Enhance management reporting in order to improve communication of critical information and maintain accountability for financial performance, to individuals at all levels in the organization
o Perform internal and external benchmark analysis on key business areas and identify opportunities to improve operations and deliver more profitable growth.
o Support Sales and Operational Planning Process
o Inventory Management/Working Capital Analysis & Forecasting
o DSI/Inventory Turn/Sell-Thru Analysis
o Replenishment Order Review and Analysis
o Primary GTM Finance liaison with applicable BA Retail & Ecom team(s).
• 5+ years of related work in Financial analysis and business controlling
• Strong ability to build business cases, have helicopter view but also detailed analytical skills when needed
• SAP FICO & BI systems experience a plus
• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; MBA a plus
