What You'll Do

The Marketing Director for our Winter Sports category is a key member of the Salomon Marketing Team.  This role is responsible for developing the winter sports marketing plan for North America, in alignment with the global strategy. This includes seasonal campaigns and product launches in accordance with the global brand calendar. The Director identifies opportunities, defines priorities and drives execution.  This role acts as the lead marketing voice of the winter sports categories in the North American market to both internal and external stakeholders. He/she is responsible for creating and supporting a one-brand approach for the consumer.  Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Leads the strategy for winter sports marketing in North America in alignment with the local and global winter sports business plans
  • Responsible for providing global/local feedback on market insights
  • Provides oversight on and is accountable for the marketing working budgets
  • Creates the winter sports epicenter playbook
  • Manages winter sports marketing team
  • Owns winter sports marketing seasonal scorecard
  • Acts as lead marketing voice for the Salomon winter sports portfolio where applicable, such as; rental, resort partnerships, media, PR, Key Accounts
  • Responsible for overall channel marketing strategy inclusive of D2C/D2X for all winter sports categories
  • Ensures delivery of the sport specific marketing toolboxes for winter sports
  • Collaborates with global marketing to ensure investments and plans support North American market business objectives

What We're Looking For

This role requires a Bachelors degree and 10+ years of related experience in brand or product marketing in the winter sports arena.  We are looking for a candidate with prior experience leading and developing high performing teams as well as experience being involved in building and implementing strategic plans.  Other qualifications include:

 

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of finance
  • Ability to critically analyze opportunities and provide a clear path of action
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills; adept at delivering information and feedback to a diverse set of stakeholders; strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-stakeholder, international matrix environment
  • Effective interpersonal skills; ability to influence and gain buy in from key stakeholders
  • Ability to determine priorities on a powder day
