What You'll Do

We are currently seeking a Demand Planner to support our Salomon footwear product line.  Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate cross functional disciplines to develop the consensus demand plan that is accurate and in line with market, historical, statistical and developing trends.
  • Use various tools and experience to aggregate the consensus demand plan down to size, color, location, and time.
  • Support the end to end range management process including material and system setup.
  • Interact with Sales and Commercial peers to solicit key market and environmental impacts.
  • Work closely with demand planning counterparts in Europe as a key member of the global S&OP processes.
  • Facilitate monthly S&OP meetings with Commercial, Sales, and finance. Recommend adjustments to the overall operational forecasts and find consensus among the team.
  • Prepare relevant material to facilitate discussion and action during the monthly consensus meetings.
  • Distribution and consolidation of the global range management files.
  • Monitor trends in forecast error.
  • Setup and update the demand planning systems with relevant seasonal/market-related data and competitive intelligence.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to the demand planning process.
  • Support Inventory/SKU control – work with commercial to reduce complexity in the ranges, support the DCs to setup each season, work with Sales and B2C to liquidate the old.
  • Up to 5% travel may be required.


What We're Looking For

This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work/education experience. We are looking for a candidate with 3-5 years of strong experience in demand/supply planning (softgoods preferred).  Other qualifications include:

  • Expertise in Excel (required)
  • Knowledge of S&OP/IBP processes
  • SAP Experience (preferred)
  • Experience with reporting tools (SAP BI, Business Objects, Cliqview)
  • JDA software experience a plus
  • Comfort with communicating with senior leadership
  • Experience presenting and negotiating with executive level management as well as influencing within a matrix environment
