What You'll Do

The Marketing Manager, Epicenters, is responsible for delivering a seamless consumer experience in epicenters. They are directly responsible for managing and developing the Epicenter Lead and ensuring omnichannel execution across all categories. This role works collaboratively with sales agencies, partners, and ambassadors, while building relationships to elevate the brand at relevant distribution points. This position is responsible for gathering consumer insights, industry trends, competitor benchmarking and product feedback through their team.

The Marketing Manager, Epicenters must deliver the seasonal epicenter playbook by city.

They are also responsible for supporting sell-through and driving consumer demand at multiple touchpoints. This position will focus on coordinating demos, trials, and events and own the overall epicenter calendar.

 

Scope of Work: All Salomon categories: Running, Outdoor, Alpine, Snowboard, Nordic and Sportstyle Priorities defined seasonally by sport managers.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:

Community Marketing

  • Plan consumer events that focus on new product demos and sport experiences
  • Deliver the training tool kit by sport
  • Provide scorecard reporting on epicenter activities executed by field team
  • Collaborate with sales agencies at agreed upon consumer trial events & experiences
  • Provide guidelines and budgets for regional ambassador teams inclusive of training, product facilitation and other needs
  • Collaborate with sport marketing to deliver the seasonal event playbooks for community activations
  • Work with sales and category to understand seasonal business plans by epicenter and be up to date on channel reporting and new distribution points as applicable

In-Store Experience/ Shopper Marketing

  • Interface with global to develop best in class training that build brand advocacy and supports our recommendation strategy
  • Equip teams (field and marketing) with training on product as well as presentation and delivery skills to connect with shop pros
  • As requested, deliver presentations that will elevate staff engagement and create loyal in-store advocates for our products, programs and consumer initiatives
  • Create sell-through contests in collaboration with sport marketing teams
  • Ensure point-of-purchase displays and merchandising guidelines are upheld to brand standards
  • Align on campaigns where possible and make sure they are in alignment with the consumer calendar

 

Leadership:

  • Manage direct reports operating remotely across the US
  • Communicate MBOs and KPIs annually to team in conjunction with Salomon cadence and direction
  • Understand and prioritize business actions that support Salomon’s Omni-Channel growth plan
  • Project manage training for National Accounts to provide training assets and materials along with service plan
  • Effectively communicate business updates to remote team
  • Host and lead in-person training and team building for Epicenter Leads
  • Provide Canada with tools and resources for success with the Epicenter strategy

 

Tracking and Reporting:

  • Manage travel expenses and local marketing budget as assigned
  • Recommend platforms and other services that can support the team with necessary reporting and sell through
  • Is responsible for North America consumer experience scorecard reporting (ex: ambassadors, events, SEF input)
  • Help create a return on investment model for local ambassadors with digital and ecom teams
  • Stay informed on the overall epicenter scorecards by city

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with 5-10 years practical experience in the running, outdoor and/or winter sports industry is preferred.

B.S. or B.A.  In Business, Marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
