What You'll Do

The Alpine Associate Manager is responsible for supporting and providing input to the Alpine Category Manager throughout the annual Go-To-Market cycle. This includes participation in the business planning process, assortment planning as well as providing support with the forecasting processes.  The Alpine Associate Manager is responsible for tasks assigned by the Alpine Category Manager in-line with global and regional brand strategies to achieve Salomon Sales, Market Share, Distribution, and Profit objectives for North America. Finally, the Alpine Associate Manager will be the primary organizer of all things product including communication, training, showroom and samples. This role will provide insight on how to implement meaningful assortments and merchandising plans.

 

General Category Responsibilities:

  • Support Salomon Alpine Category Manager to ensure that all objectives are met
  • Assist in the evaluation of the market(s) and competitor landscape to validate the objectives and plans by channel & assist in activating the key business drivers for success in the market
  • Gather market intelligence and research as well as competitive information
  • Assist in product forecasting and formal entry and tracking
  • Collaboration & coordination with Salomon Marketing on initiatives to build best in class Go-to-Market (GTM) experiences and collaborate building in-store presence and promotional programs
  • Responsible for maintaining sales programs, price lists, and supporting GTM materials
  • Provide support to Sales Operations team on Sales meetings & GTM events
  • Brand representative for binding certification process, alpine warranty policy, maintenance of certified-technician.com, and annual publication of shop practices manual
  • Owner and Organizer of all alpine product training content for internal and external stakeholders

 

Global/Local Interface

 

The Alpine Associate Manager Interfaces with brand development teams in Europe across all Business Divisions

  • Point person for product updates and communication to the field Sales team from Global Business Divisions
  • Point person for the relay of market intelligence and research as well as competitive information to the Global Business Divisions
  • Participation and contribution in documentation of product validation process
  • Participation in global strategic business planning process

Sample & Test Fleet Ordering & Management

 

The Alpine Associate Manager will coordinate with the global supply team for timing and ordering throughout the sample/demo ordering process

  • Forecasting and Ordering w/ guidance from Alpine Category Manager & Marketing
  • Organization & Distribution of sample & demo product needs: Key accounts, show rooms, trade show, media & PR needs
  • Sales Agents sample demo order entry, maintenance and tracking
  • Mounting, tuning and general preparation of all sample and demo sets

General organization and participation for test events

What We're Looking For

Required Education and Experience

  • S. or B.A. In Business, Marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 3-5 years of category, retail or trade experience
  • Experience in the winter sports industry preferred

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

  • Project Management
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Outdoor industry and/or Skiing Industry experience and a passion for the outdoors a must
  • Language: English but Bi-lingual a plus
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Planning and Organizing
  • Achieving personal work goals and objectives
  • Relating and Networking
