What You'll Do

The Outdoor Marketing Manager, North America, is responsible for the full seasonal marketing plan for the region. This includes adaptation of consumer calendars, activations against touch points and budget recommendation for the outdoor category in North America.


This role is responsible for creating and implementing the marketing playbook for outdoor in alignment with the global brand. She/he will prioritize initiatives for the category and make the final recommendation for all elements of the local marketing mix. This is inclusive of: shopper marketing, community and digital. The outdoor marketing manager will ensure toolkit sufficiency for all relevant campaigns and make sure these tools are efficiently distributed.


SCOPE OF WORK: Outdoor categories: Hike, Backpack, Kids, Forces, Water, Captiv, Outdoor Apparel/Gear


  • Lead the development and execution of fully integrated, consumer facing programs and drive key brand marketing initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with functional teams and harness their expertise to develop the shopper marketing, community and digital strategy each season
  • Support the VP of marketing and category teams in the development of the 3-year region/country strategic business plan as requested
  • Responsible for the annual marketing working budget as directed by the VP of marketing, in alignment with the leadership team
  • Adapt the concept and asset toolbox to local needs and ensure toolbox delivery (on time & within budget)
  • Organize local photo/video shoots to address global content gaps
  • Articulate and communicate the regional marketing needs and toolbox requirements to global brand team
  • Support the global team with focus groups as requested
  • Execute seasonal content audits and create brand briefing documents that allow for cross-functional transparency and feedback from these functional experts
  • Partner with shopper marketing to build premium partner and key account seasonal support
  • Maintain visibility to product deliveries, inventory and sell through data. Pivot priorities when necessary
  • In collaboration with the ecomm merchandising managers and digital team, amplify key product/marketing stories through a compelling D2C consumer journey
  • Manage annual outdoor media partnerships, ad buys, sponsored content opportunities, etc
  • Create the sport playbook and community strategy inclusive of epicenters, events and ambassadors

What We're Looking For

  • 5-10 years practical experience in the running, outdoor and/or winter sports industry is preferred
  • S. or B.A. In Business, Marketing, Brand Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
