Outbound Shipping Lead

We are currently seeking a Outbound Shipping Lead for our Distribution Transportation team.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily: 

• Working Lead alongside shipping personnel
• Organize, arrange, and route freight, international, and key account shipments.
• Verify and work with CS, Sales reps, and customers to verify key dates and important details.
• Communicate with internal team about processing and following up deliveries with issues.
• Process deliveries/shipments through SAP system
• Provide training of current and new employees
• Act as POC/leader when supervisor is out or unavailable (includes meetings, reporting, and other tasks)
• Cross train for all areas & departments. Help other departments when needed
• Work closely with freight dock team.
• Execute daily schedules and priorities. Maintain a positive work atmosphere and positive employee relations
• Provide employee feedback to management
• Comply with company health, safety procedures and rules
• Performs other duties as assigned

This role prefers a high school diplomna; however, a combination of education and work experience will be considered.  We are looking for a candidate with at least 1 year of experience.  

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Strong customer service skills, strong reading and logistical skills

• Planning and Organization, Technical and Professional Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and inventory computer systems

• Excellent troubleshooting skills, highly organized, high attention to detail

• One (1) year of distribution experience preferably in receiving functions
